Therapy for stress, relationships, cultural identity, and life changes, with someone who has lived experience, gets the cultural nuances, and offers practical support that fits your life.
You came for school, work, or after marriage. Maybe you took a heavy loan, chose a program for the visa, traded your career for survival jobs, or put it on hold to run a home. "Once I have PR. Once the job is stable. Once things settle." On calls home, you say it's good. Then you wonder, "Did I make the right decision?"
Biodatas, matches, horoscopes, and "When are you getting married?" Maybe your partner is from a different religion, caste, or community, or you'd rather stay single. Every choice comes with the same worries: "What will people say?" "Can I actually decide for myself?"
Even in a loving marriage, there's strain: being the "good daughter-in-law" over video calls, pressure to excel at work while meeting family expectations, and carrying more than your fair share. Maybe you came on a dependent visa and aren't earning yet, so spending on yourself feels like spending someone else's money. What you do at home is work too, even if not everyone counts it. Or maybe the marriage is breaking down, and leaving feels like it would shame the whole family.
"Any good news?" The question follows you everywhere. Fertility struggles, a pregnancy loss, or feeling low after birth. Maybe you miss having a village around you, and no one could fly in to help. You may love your baby and still grieve parts of who you were.
School runs, tiffins, homework, work, and everyone's needs before yours. "Who takes care of everyone if I'm not there?" You may feel guilty when you repeat those patterns that once hurt you. And as your children grow, you may wonder, "Who am I without them?"
Your parents are getting older back home, and you're the one abroad. A late-night call about their health, a sponsorship or visa that's taking years, siblings who expect you to send more. Getting on a plane isn't simple. And sometimes you wonder, "If something happened to them or me, how would I manage?"
How it works
In person in London or virtually across Ontario.
Direct billing is submitted for you — no forms, no waiting.
Only whatever your plan doesn't cover. Often nothing at all.
Therapy sessions are covered by most major insurance providers, with direct billing available, so you don't pay upfront and wait for reimbursement. No HST applies.
Don't see your provider? Ask us — most plans still reimburse.
Sessions aren't covered by OHIP. Direct billing is available to all providers listed above. Coverage varies by plan — check your policy for psychotherapy or social work benefits. Paying out of pocket is completely fine — you're welcome either way.
You don't need the right words or a reason that feels big enough. A free 15-minute call is a chance to see if it feels right.
You don’t have to be sure.
